Yeah, I’m back.

July 21, 2009

But I’ve been a little busy and a little lazy so I haven’t posted anything.

In short, the retreat went really well and I after it’s completion I decided to take a weekend trip to Orange County to see some friends.

More soon…

Taking A Week Off

July 9, 2009

We’re going to be really busy here the next few days, and then I’ll be heading off to my Silent retreat with my classmates. Please pray for us – that we will use the time well and grow in our vocations.

I’ll be back in like a week and a half. God Bless.

Calpan

July 7, 2009

As mentioned a little earlier, I had the opportunity to go horseback riding with a small group of students from my language school. I’m not the hugest fan of horseback riding, and I don’t know why. Maybe it was because when I was a kid at camp I got all psyched up to ride a horse one time and it was a huge let down because the horse just followed the horse in front of it and I didn’t do anything. So I was expecting that sort of thing to happen.

I was pleasantly surprised. This was not a ride in the park.

Me and my horse.

Me and my horse.

The terrain was not easy. We were heading through streams, we were heading up and down some pretty steep hills, and we were ploughing through some pretty thick brush. One of the ladies in our group even fell off her horse at one point… luckily she didn’t fall far. We were rewarded with some great views of the Mexican Countryside.Bryanmexico 003

The views were excellent and the company was fabulous. I even got a crash course in riding when my horse started galloping. Yup. I galloped. And it was awesome. Here are some shots that they took of us riding…Bryan and fin

My back was killing me the next day, as were my legs. I also picked up a pretty nasty sunburn which lingered for a few days. But it was worth it because it was a very memorable experience and it’s something I probably won’t do every again. A trip like this in the states would be way more expensive and you’d have to fill out like 30 insurance waiver forms.

Since I can’t think of how to end this post I’ll just post this picture of a trailer that I thought was funny…Bryanmexico 016

Out of Cold Water

July 6, 2009

Sorry for the lack of updates. I just felt like my last post needed to stay up for a little while than longer than normal.

I’m back in LA and doing some work with my classmates at the Seminary. Over the next couple of days I’ll elaborate a little more on that and I’ll try finish up some posts about Mexico.

Mexico. A surprising place. I ran out of cold water yesterday. Yes. Cold water. Running out of hot water is a normal, sometimes everyday occurance for many people, but this is the first I’ve experienced running out of cold water.

So my shower yesterday was scalding hot and there was no way to cool it off. It was fascinating.

That’s it for now, check back soon for updates.
